Don Michael joined Donaldson Capital Management in 2026 as Vice Chairman through the firm’s merger with IMC Advisors, LLC. Don first met Donaldson Chairman of the Board, Mike Hull, in 1977 at Irwin Management Company (the Irwin Miller “family office”) in Columbus, Indiana, where they both started their careers. IMC Advisors was an outgrowth of Irwin Management Company, which was established in 2001 to serve the wealth advisory needs of clients outside of the Miller family.
Don earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business in 1974. He later completed his MBA, with concentrations in finance and real estate, from the same institution in 1977. During his career, Don has served as President of IMC Advisors, LLC, President of Tipton Lakes Company, Inc., developer of the 1200-acre Tipton Lakes community in Columbus, Indiana, and Executive Vice President and Treasurer of Irwin Management Company, Inc.
Beyond the Office
Don was born and raised in Indiana and moved to Columbus in 1977. He and his wife, Diane, have three married children and five grandchildren ranging in age from 6 to 18. He enjoys serving on the Columbus Regional Health Board of Trustees and visiting Sanibel, Florida, where he and Diane have owned a vacation home for more than 20 years.
