Blake Alsman, CFP®, is Senior Investment Advisor and Partner at Donaldson Capital Management. He studied Business and Information Technology at Indiana University where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Informatics. In May of 2003, he graduated from IU, married his wife, Joey, and moved back home to Evansville to begin working as a Marketing Analyst for American General Finance (now known as Springleaf). Almost 3 years later, Blake accepted a position with Mead Johnson Nutrition. During his seven-year tenure at Mead Johnson, Blake worked in Medical and Retail Sales, Marketing, and the Consumer Resource Center throughout which time he developed and enhanced several key resource allocation models. He did all this while pursuing his MBA at the University of Southern Indiana and growing his young family.
In 2012, Blake explored a role with a small Canadian Medical Technology company as Sr. Manager of Sales, Marketing, and Project Management, where he traveled all across North America working with medical professionals and hospitals on patient safety in their Neonatal Intensive Care Units and Nurseries. Although it was rewarding to help hospitals protect their fragile newborns, Blake realized during this time how important it was to him to work with good people and have a direct and meaningful impact on the clients he serves.
He began speaking with Mike Hull about Donaldson Capital Management and the needs that were coming about as a result of the firm’s growth. Then, in March 2013, he joined the team as an Advisor. This role allows him to use his experiences in analysis to directly help his clients and allows him to spend more time with his wife and four children.
In March 2016, Blake successfully completed the CFP Board’s requirements for certification and is a Certified Financial Planner™ professional.
Blake lives in Newburgh with his wife, Joey, and their children, Laney, Hadley, Lila, and Bennett. They are actively involved in Crossroads Christian Church.
Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. owns the certification marks CFP®, Certified Financial Planner™, and federally registered CFP (with flame design) in the U.S., which it awards to individuals who successfully complete CFP Board’s initial and ongoing certification requirements.
