Matthew Wright, CPA, joined Donaldson Capital Management in May 2021 and serves as Chief Financial Officer.
An Evansville native, Matthew graduated from FJ Reitz High School before earning his Bachelors in Accounting and Masters in Business Administration at Ball State University in 2009 and 2010. After college, he completed his studies to achieve his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation while working for Somerset CPAs in Indianapolis, Indiana. At Somerset, Matthew was acclimated to all facets of the Accounting profession and a large array of industries for both small and large companies.
Then, looking to get closer to family and to start one himself, Matthew took a job with Bristol-Myers Squibb in Mt. Vernon, Indiana as a Financial Analyst, immersing himself in the complex world of pharmaceutical manufacturing. During this time, the Bristol-Myers site was acquired by AstraZeneca, a pharmaceutical company headquartered in England and Sweden. While it was eye-opening to work through a high-paced acquisition with coworkers across the globe, Matthew knew deep down he wanted to have a bigger impact on his community.
Most recently, with his position as Assistant Director of Business Affairs for the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation, and now as the Chief Financial Officer at Donaldson Capital Management, he feels he can do just that.
Matthew and his wife Kelsey have two boys, Coen and Fletcher. Matthew loves to get outside with his family to play games, hike, or go camping when the weather is nice. However, when he cannot get outside, he spends his time at the kitchen counter with his boys and a tub of art supplies.
