Marvin Wright

Marvin Wright, CPA, CFP®, began his career at DCM in 2014 and retired as a Senior Advisor in May 2025. He continues to serve DCM clients as a Partner and Board Member.

He graduated with a BS in Accounting from the University of Evansville in 1977 and started his work in public accounting the same year. He worked with a national firm in Louisville and then became a partner in a local Evansville firm before founding Wright Consultants, LLC in 1983. After twenty-four years of operating the accounting and financial services firm, Wright Consultants was merged into Kemper CPA Group, LLP in 2007, which is when he also joined Kemper Capital Management, LLC. Marvin has taught accounting and continuing education courses at the University of Southern Indiana and made numerous presentations to CPAs and small business owners. Marvin earned his CPA license in 1980 and insurance licenses in 2000. He earned his CFP® certification in 2004.

 

Beyond the Office

Marvin is married to his high school sweetheart, Nancy. They have four children: Josi, Lori, Courtney, and Matthew. They also have seven grandchildren: Rene, Isabelle, Coen, James, Sabrina, Fletcher, and Mateo. Marvin enjoys horseback riding, bicycling, pitching horseshoes, and raising animals and hay on his small farm. He receives his greatest pleasures from spending time and experiences with his family. 

Highlights

Marvin’s professional affiliations include the American Institute of CPAs, the Indiana CPA Society, the Kentucky Society of CPAs, the Institute of Management Accountants, and the Evansville Estate Planning Council.
 
He has served on a number of nonprofit boards and held roles of chairman, president, and treasurer. These organizations include Evansville ARC, Evansville Small Business Center, Growth Alliance of Greater Evansville, United Way of Southwestern Indiana, Leadership Evansville, Vanderburgh County CASA, Holly’s House, WNIN, USI Account Circle, USI Board of Advisors, Evansville Kennel Club, Messiah Lutheran Church, and Immanuel Lutheran Church.
